I don’t have much to say for this blog post. I completed the two-day course and I have learned a lot more than what I originally knew with my distance learning courses. It was lovely to complete group activities with my colleagues, such as creating a vulnerable person and giving them traumatic experiences to discuss how they would deal with the situation and the best way to support them and offer them advice, which while isn’t nice, is good to understand best ways of helping them. I prefer things with real-life contexts because I find it easier to understand.

I would definitely recommend the course to anyone thinking of taking it. I am a young person (sorry) and I found a lot of the topics that were discussed were very relevant and the coping strategies and the support systems would be very useful within those situations.

I am really happy to be a Youth Mental Health First Aider as it is just one more step in becoming the best teacher I can be.
