Welcome back to the blog! In this post, I am going to share how to access student responses in Google Forms via Google Classroom. I have a lot of teachers ask why they can’t see student responses within the Classroom and I have to explain the only way is through the responses tab. It can be a little fiddly to access so I thought I’d create a step-by-step guide through the blog.

Step 1: Go to your Google Classroom the quiz is stored in.

Step 2: Open up the Assignment with the quiz. Some students may have handed the quiz in but you may not be able to see the scores.

Step 3: There should be a direct link to the Form (which you added) on the Google Classroom post, click on the link and you should be redirected to your form.

Step 4: There is a pencil icon at the bottom right. This icon, when clicked, lets you edit the form itself instead of going back through Google Drive.

Step 5: You will now have the form in an editable format. This means if you edit anything, it will automatically display on the published form. At the top, there is a tab for questions and a tab for responses. Click on the Responses tab.

Step 6: You should see a list of students (or their email addresses) who have completed the quiz. This list will have their score at the end (if they completed it) which you can cross-reference and provide in a private comment back to the student on the Google Classroom assignment post.

That’s it! You’re done. I hope this makes sense as it can be quite fiddly. You can also use the spreadsheet to identify the scores but I would only use this if you plan to analyse the data from the scores rather than just check students have completed.

See you next time!
