The BCoT Maths site is a GCSE and Functional Skills revision site which acts as a hub to showcase all of the brilliant tools, resources and websites that those studying GCSE or Functional Skills maths can use within their revision. The BCoT Maths site was originally created by me, an idea by my manager, Scott Hayden, and has since had many different versions all designed and sourced by resit students.
The site also offers a breakdown of resources, so depending on what you study, there will be a topic and extra resources from different existing sites that students can learn from. I didn’t want to make it a copy of other existing sites as there seems to loads and I didn’t want to add to the problem, rather just create a hub for all the tried and true resources that already exist. We have also uploaded content from our maths teachers to support current students with going back and revising the content easier, our maths staff also contribute with maths tutorials and helpful revision videos to make the site unique.
The BCoT Maths site was recognised in the EdTech50 2020 as one of the leading projects across the nation and I am immesely proud of how far it has come. The site is used in colleges across the UK and our students use it every year to lock in their passing grade.
The current design and layout of the site was created by a former BCoT GCSE resit student, Callum Rochester, who is looking for further web design opportunities.
